Toward e-City
    Nowadays, to achieve a sustaining development, progress based on knowledge is necessary. Moreover, Moving From Data To Knowledge is not possible without constructing stable and permanent infrastructure in the field of communication and information. This process requires a suitable situation for exchanging information systematically.

  Information & Communication Technology (ICT) carries out this duty. This technology is an element for making, developing and maintaining the base of other technological development and it is result of a stable development.
    Attention to this important subject results in the implementation of vast and strong planning and activities in IT throughout the country and it is composed of two parts:
    1. Software - developing application systems, education and promoting the culture of using IT innovations in day life.
    2. Hardware- improving data networks and communications bases and government offices equipments
e-Government Issues in Mashhad
    The organizing of e-government is formed from efforts based on IT development in the country. The necessity of achieving such a vision is to have permanent communication and information infrastructures, e-cities and e-citizens. Among these cases, making e-cities has a particular importance, because the essential purpose of e-government is to prepare electronic urban services. Therefore, the first step of e-government in the country is taken via selecting Mashhad as a pilot for e-cities by the Ministry of Interior.
